Little help for a newb
Not certain if i'm supposed to post this here, but there doesnt seem to b a section for AB builds so i'll put it here for now...
Been ABing 4 a while with my war, and think the build works fairly well, but no doubt theres gonna be things to improve on.
Swords: 16
Strength: 10
Tactics: 10
Air Magic: 3
1. Sever Artery
2. Sun and Moon Slash
3. Dragon Slash
4. For Great Justice
5. Healing signet
6. Shock
7. Sprint
8. Riposte
I know, right away tonnes of people will rubbish my build for SA and no Gash, but it seems 2 do enough damage, as with FGJ i can spam SM slash and Dragon slash endlessly for its duration.... but maybe if i could work gash into it, it would help...
Energy can get a problem at times with the exhaustion from shock and the 10 cost of FGJ, but with glads armor i can manage it most of the time.
I was stuck on what to choose for my 8th slot, riposte is there just to deter sins from clobbering if im alone...
I've also just started ABing on my new necro, whos build is something like this.
1. Rotting Flesh
2. Vile Miasma
3. Parasitic Bond
4. Discord
5. Taste of Pain
6. Enfeebling Touch
7. Death Nova
8. Soul Feast
Just started using this build, and it did ok on its first few tries... but not brilliantly (Luxon at Etnaran keys is hard 2 do badly). Can't quite remember the atts, but its something like Soul Reaping : 13
Death Magic : 13
Curses : 7
Anyways, any help on either build will be appreciated - thanks

In the warrior build, you might as well take gash instead of for great justice, since even though you do enough damage, having that extra ~100 damage with the deep wound really helps speed things up. That also frees up some more energy to shock stuff...I guess..
If you really like FGJ, then take out shock, since it really doesn't help you that much...
As for a necro, the most popular build by far is the minion master. It can easily dominate the npcs and is powerful in a group unless taken out quickly.

DW removes 100 health from your opponent's bar. Sever Artery provides so little damage that it's really not worth taking unless you're gonna use it as a primer for DW.
Enraging Charge > FGJ
You have so much adrenaline gain from this, why not use Rush instead of Sprint?
Shock is OK, I prefer Bull's Strike but whatever.
Riposte is bad.
An IAS might be a good idea.
Although really, I'm not a big fan of DS in AB in general. AB's brief, sporadic fights make DS's adrenaline expire too much, making Quivering a better choice in general (since so few people bring a block). Healing tends to be so light that sever-gash-final tends to produce the best results, IMO.

For the warrior:
Maybe [card]Hamstring[/card] instead of Shock. That would also free your choice of 2nd prof, which could be /Mo for [card]Mending Touch[/card] or /N for [card]Plague Touch[/card] , either of which could replace Riposte as your defense against sins. Also bring a Zealous modded sword.
For the Necromancer:
Plague Touch instead of Death Nova would be good, unless you have an MM on your side or you tend to go suicidal. Discord, I take it is your main offense so to get it off faster, it's better to use [card]Enfeeble[/card] instead of Enfeebling Touch because it's ranged, and you can also use it instead of Rotting Flesh (Enfeeble can be cast faster) to meet the requirements of Discord.

Ok cheers 4 the input people. My NF is on the way at the moment, so i havent had a chance to try out enraging charge or mending touch, but they both sound pretty good, so i'll give em a try.
Rush was quite an obvious one too, dunno why i havent used that instead...
As for the necro, i wanted to try something a little different, MM's r everywhere in AB's now, so thought i'd give a discord build a go... enfeeble sounds much better than the touch version, so i guess i'll go with that..
thanks

If you want a dragon slash build for AB, this is the best:
Sword: 12+3+1
Strength: 9+1
Earth Prayers: 9
[skill]Flail[/skill][skill]Galrath Slash[/skill][skill]Silverwing Slash[/skill][skill]Dragon Slash[/skill][skill]"For Great Justice!"[/skill][skill]Vital Boon[/skill][skill]Signet of Pious Light[/skill][skill]Enraging Charge[/skill]
The self-heal is sick, and so is the dmg output

try lions comfort in place of heal sig if you use dragon slash
it takes 4 adren and heal about 60 at 10 strenght
but............another 5 for each level of tactics
and disables sigs for 12 secs
so your looking at a free (with DS) 110 hp heal with no recharge and 1 sec activation

While there's no doubt that riposte is bad in general PvP where the team is the focus, it actually has its place in AB. It makes capping the warrior shrine easier, can destroy a sin's combo (while damaging them), and discourages other attacks from hitting you, allowing you to do maximum damage output.

As a sin u hardly ever attack wars, there are much more interesting targets then wars around usually. If bothered by wars I place a siphon speed on the war and then look for a nice target to amuse myself with.
Expose defenses > blocking

There isn't much you can do against Assassins without good monk support, SP/BOA is just too broken. Riposte will block one attack, and unless that attack is an offhand, the duals are still going to do most of their harmful effects. If you really need an assassin defense, bring Shield Bash, at least then you can interrupt the duals completely and knock them on their ass for 3 seconds.
The warrior shrine is not difficult.

Nope, a decent warrior can solo at least the following platforms;
3x warrior
2x ranger
3x mesmer
3x necromancer
1x monk

Hmm, ive made some changes and experimented with them all, pretty much i can solo the ranger, mesmer, monk and usually the warrior shrines. I don't even bother trying the ele shrine, but i'm having trouble with the necro, or necro/rit shrines... any advice?

The only way to clean out the ele shrine fast is either with a monk (PS owns them), or MS/Maelstrom. Other than that, if you can heal through it and move around, you can make them deplete their energy because they cast Orb/Hammer with no attunement.
The necro shrines, you can't really do much as a physical, faint with no hex removal > you. For the rit shrine, interrupt or KD them.
